Continuing Education Seminar for Chief Accountants in the Cooperative System: Legislative Updates and Best Practices in Taxation
Recently, the Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives of the Republic of Moldova (Moldcoop) organized a continuing education seminar for chief accountants from the cooperative system. The event aimed to strengthen the competencies of specialists in the tax and accounting fields, in light of recent legislative changes. Held over two days, the seminar brought together experts from national institutions and university lecturers with extensive practical experience.
📌 Day I: Key Changes in Tax Legislation and Fiscal Adjustment of Income
During the first day, participants benefited from valuable presentations delivered by representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova:
- Iulia Melnic, Head of the Directorate for Direct Taxes and International Regulations, addressed the major changes in income taxation and their implications for taxpayers.
- Anastasia Eremeeva, Head of the Real Estate Valuation Methodology Service, presented new principles regarding the assessment and taxation of real estate assets.
- Ana Litocenco, Head of the Financial Sector Regulation Directorate, explained the legislative changes affecting the financial sector and their relevance to the activities of cooperative units.
This session was complemented by the presentation of Ms. Iuliana Țugulschi, auditor, certified practicing accountant, university lecturer, and PhD holder. She explained in detail the methods of adjusting income and expenses for tax purposes and the completion of the corporate income tax return, offering practical examples and recommendations for accurate and efficient tax reporting.
📌 Day II: VAT Updates and 2025 Salary Regulations
The second day of the seminar focused on two highly relevant topics:
- Iurii Lichii, Deputy Director of the State Tax Service, presented the latest updates on Value Added Tax (VAT), emphasizing new rules for application, reporting, and deduction, as well as current challenges in tax compliance.
- Ana Nicolaescu, PhD in Economics and university lecturer, delivered a comprehensive presentation on employee salary regulations for 2025, discussing recent legal changes, their impact on labor relations, and fiscal implications for human resource management.
