Trade and Public Catering Organization Department

     Within the organizational structure of Moldcoop, the Trade and Public Catering Organization Department plays a fundamental role, representing one of the core departments of the executive apparatus. Its activity is oriented toward the consolidation and development of the network of commercial units and public catering services within the cooperative system, contributing to the fulfillment of Moldcoop’s general mission – to provide the population with accessible, modern services that meet current social and economic demands.

Regulatory Framework and General Objectives

     The Department carries out its activity based on the Law on Consumer Cooperation and other legislative and normative acts in force, as well as in accordance with the statutory provisions of Moldcoop. It also acts under the decisions adopted by the Congress of Consumer Cooperation, the Administrative Council, and the Executive Bureau of Moldcoop.

     The Department’s core objective is the efficient and sustainable organization of commercial activities and public catering services within the cooperative network. This objective is pursued through a systemic approach based on strategic planning, continuous modernization, professional training, and the expansion of the commercial network across the territory.

Areas of Action and Responsibilities

     To achieve its objectives, the Department engages in a wide and diversified range of activities focused on the following areas:

  • Development and implementation of strategies in the field of trade and public catering, aimed at the continuous improvement of service quality and their adaptation to the expectations of the modern consumer;
  • Promotion of advanced forms and methods for organizing and conducting commercial activities, both in retail and wholesale trade as well as in public catering, through the introduction of modern technologies, digitalization, and operational efficiency standards;
  • Organization of professional training and development activities for staff in the sector, including seminars, training sessions, and professional competitions, aiming to enhance competencies and increase the level of professionalism of employees within the cooperative system;
  • Expansion and strengthening of the cooperative network’s territorial presence, by supporting local initiatives to establish and develop commercial and catering units in as many localities as possible, especially in rural areas, thus contributing to reducing regional disparities in access to essential services;
  • Modernization of existing commercial infrastructure, through investments in renovating and equipping units with modern tools and facilities, in order to create functional, attractive, and energy-efficient commercial spaces.

     Through its complex and multidimensional activity, the Trade and Public Catering Organization Department makes an essential contribution to strengthening the cooperative system in the Republic of Moldova.
