Moldcoop carries out a wide range of service-oriented activities tailored to the needs of local communities. These include:

Through these services, cooperatives actively contribute to community development, the preservation of traditions, and the provision of accessible, high-quality services for the population.

Public catering services

The public catering sector represents a dynamic and complex branch of consumer cooperation, with a significant impact on food quality and nutritional education.

In this field, 47 economic agents operate within the consumer cooperation system, managing a total of 145 units. The capacity of public catering establishments varies from approximately 20 seats to 220 serving places.

The main strategic directions of the public catering sector are defined by the following aspects:

Organization and provision of public catering services to the population (for a fee):

  • Preparation and serving of meals within units such as restaurants, cafés, canteens, buffets, etc., with regional differentiation;

  • Paid catering services for various occasions (festive meals, memorial meals, family events, and others), prepared in safe and hygienic-sanitary conditions, in compliance with current standards;

  • Collaboration with local institutions (schools, town halls, enterprises) to provide contractual food services.

Diversification and adaptation of the culinary offer:

  • Development of varied, affordable, and balanced menus for consumer categories with a medium budget;

  • Introduction of traditional dishes according to consumer preferences and regional specificities;

  • Preparation of fasting meals or meals tailored for special categories (children, elderly, patients).

Ensuring food quality and safety:

  • Compliance with sanitary-veterinary regulations and ANSA standards throughout the entire technological process (procurement, storage, cooking, serving);

  • Use of safe, fresh, and certified food products;

  • Maintaining hygiene in production spaces and providing periodic staff training.

Promotion and communication with consumers:

  • Informing consumers about offers and upcoming events via social media;

  • Creating a friendly atmosphere and ensuring service marked by kindness, promptness, and respect;

  • Providing catering services for local institutions, cultural events, or seasonal campaigns.

Development of the public catering sector:

  • Implementing digital solutions by integrating online orders, modern management systems, and electronic payment methods;

  • Promoting sustainability through the use of green energy in public catering units, reducing environmental impact and long-term costs;

  • Striving for sustainable and innovative gastronomy, centered on consumer health, product quality, and food education.

Educational services

The Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives of the Republic of Moldova (Moldcoop) supports the development of human capital through its own network of prestigious educational institutions, dedicated to training specialists in the economic and commercial fields.

These institutions include:

  • Cooperative-Commercial University of Moldova (UCCM) – a higher education institution with tradition, offering bachelor’s and master’s programs in key areas such as accounting, finance and banking, law, commerce, business administration, and marketing. UCCM prepares specialists capable of meeting the current demands of the economy and actively contributing to the development of the cooperative and entrepreneurial sector.

  • Cooperative College of Moldova (CCM) – a vocational technical postsecondary institution with a rich history in training economic and commercial professionals. CCM offers specialties such as accounting, commerce, merchandising, finance, and banking, preparing graduates well-suited for the labor market and the cooperative sector.

  • Center of Excellence in Business Administration – a modern institution focused on developing the practical and entrepreneurial skills of young people. Through its programs, the Center trains specialists in fields such as business administration, management, and commercial services, emphasizing innovation and adaptability to the requirements of the market economy.

Through these institutions, Moldcoop provides comprehensive educational services, ensuring the training of generations of professionals who contribute to strengthening the national economy and to the sustainable development of consumer cooperation.
